Meet our Instructors

Geoffrey R. LeRoy, CPIM-F, CSCP-F, CLTD-F, MBA

Geoff LeRoy has been specializing in supply chain management for the manufacturing, service and distribution industries for more than thirty (30) years.  He has worked in areas of international procurement, global logistics, production planning, inventory management, engineering, distribution and customer service.  He has incorporated Continuous Improvement and Lean practices in his professional positions since early in his career.  Currently, he is the General Manager for a medical services company, the President for the Savannah ASCM Chapter, and is an active instructor and educator in the fields of lean, supply chain management, materials management including procurement and in production and inventory control. 

Geoff LeRoy holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering with a concentration in Metallurgy from Lafayette College, and a Masters in Business Administration degree in Operations Management and Technology from Bryant University.  He holds certifications from the Association for Supply Chain & Operations Management (APICS / ASCM) in the areas of Production and Inventory Control (CPIM-F), Supply Chain Management (CSCP-F) and Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD-F) at the Fellowship level.

Geoff has been consulting, educating and training organizations in conjunction with various ASCM Chapters for more than twenty-five (25) years and received several Instructor of the Year awards (most recently in 2019).  For the last fifteen (15) years, Geoffrey has served on several Chapter Board of Directors as President and Vice President of Education.  He currently certified by ASCM as an instructor in the areas of CPIM, CSCP, CLTD and Lean Enterprise.  Geoff has mentored countless students and professionals while assisting them in achieving their personal and professional goals.

William E. (Bill) Lynch, CPIM, CSCP

Bill Lynch has been working manufacturing and logistics for over 20 years.  He has worked in international procurement, international supply chain planning, manufacturing operations, production planning, inventory management, quality management, and international distribution logistics.  He is green belt practitioner of Lean and Six Sigma methods.  Currently, he is a Senior Materials Planner at Gulfstream Aerospace, the premier manufacturer of business jets throughout the world.

 

Bill holds a Bachelor's degree in English from Purdue University, with a specialization in Technical Writing.  He also holds a Masters of Science in Global Supply Chain Management from Indiana University.  He holds certifications from the Association for Supply Chain & Operations Management (APICS / ASCM) in the areas of Production and Inventory Control (CPIM) and Supply Chain Management (CSCP).

 

Bill has been training and mentoring in quality management, operations, production and inventory planning, and logistics for over 10 years.

Ed Barnes, CPIM, CSCP

Edward C. Barnes has 35 years of experience in the supply chain field. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree from Charleston Southern University and an MBA from The Citadel.  Mr. Barnes served in the U.S. Navy for 26 years as a senior enlisted Electronics Technician and Supply Corps Officer, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander in 2001.

He is Certified in Production and Inventory Control (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain professional (CSCP), and Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB).  He has worked for Caterpillar, Asten-Johnson, and Tupperware as a supply chain professional. 

He has been teaching APICS classes since 2004 and has served on the Charleston Chapter Board of Directors since 2006.

Stephen Phillips, CLTD

Stephen Phillips has over 27 years in supply chain, quality, and logistics fields. He has worked for Home Shopping Network, Friedman’s Jewelers, and is currently employed with Gulfstream Aerospace as a Senior Materials Project Manager.

He holds a tech diploma for Graduate Gemologist with the GIA Institute, Lean Specialist through Gulfstream Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement program, and is currently working on his Green Belt.

He holds certifications from the Association for Supply Chain & Operations Management (APICS / ASCM) in the area of CLTD and American Gem Society (AGS) as a Certified Gemological Appraiser (CGA). He also enjoys volunteering with the local chapters of Junior Achievement and mentoring his staff and students.
